    FINAL FANTASY III's review

    Published: 2013-11-19, by Peter Warrior.

Official Square Enix port to mobile devices

    • Hey, it's Final Fantasy!
    • Good adaptation to touch screens
    • It's sad they've been released at a so expensive price.
    • Overall, no major improvements regarding the original games

    "Final Fantasy saga"

Yes, this is what you were looking for, no matter if you enjoyed them back at the time or are discovering them right now. You can be a child trapped in an adult body recalling your youth in front of a TV plugged to a miracle machine called NES or an arqueologist of gaming in his or her continue mission to understand where we come from.

This is, here it is, the official port of Final Fantasy games for mobile devices, brought by the same people who did the original games back then. Graphics have been revamped. Music isn't MIDI anymore, but sounds better. Storyline is the same, step by step, without alternate endings nor new spells or whatsoever.

There has been a deluge of debates about why, when and how should Square dig its jewels up, and here they are for you to have your own opinion. An opinion that costs a handful of dollars, by the way. These games are as great as they were, and they can openly compete with any modern game in terms of playability. And they are truly retro, the best way you can have of experiencing the real retro feeling.

Recommended for everyone, more for what they mean and are rather for their technical performance. They are expensive, though. Expensive living history.

FINAL FANTASY III -- now on Android!

First released in 1990, FINAL FANTASY III was the first title in the FINAL FANTASY series to become a million-seller, establishing once and for all that Square Enix's classic RPG saga was here to stay.
The full 3D remake released in 2006 duplicated the original's success, selling over a million copies worldwide.

FINAL FANTASY III was a hallmark of innovation for the entire series, from the job system that lets characters change classes at any time to the ability to summon powerful creatures such as Shiva and Bahamut.

When darkness falls and the land is robbed of light, four youths are chosen by the crystals to set forth on a journey to save the world.

This is hand down my favorite final fantasy. It's also, luckily, the least painful implementation of square's absurdly overzealous license checking. It's still painful. I've bought this game 4 times in my life on various platforms and it's salt in the wound to wait for license checks all the freaking time

Maybe it's just me but I have a stratus steel series xl gamepad and walking works absolutely fine but I noticed the A button during battles will be unresponsive. The gamepad works fine with other games. Still a good port!

One of the best final fantasy Games. Beautiful remake. Those saying it's too short are cutting it off at the intro credits and missing almost 80 hours of gameplay because they are too stupid to realize classic design had opening credits. Like classic Disney cartoons. Smh
