    "It's not Scrabble, we swear!"

There's a reason the classics have stuck around forever - they're solid games built on a foundation of the morals of our Founding Fathers. Alright, maybe it's just good design - ORT Software's CrossCraze is an app in this classic vein.

Place your letter tiles on the board to form words along the grid. Hit the bonus tiles to multiply your points. You can choose to play against the AI at all different levels of difficulty, or if you upgrade to the Pro version, you'll be able to face off against a human opponent. Choose from loads of different board layouts and styles, plus many different modes of play. There are even hint options for when you get stuck.

CrossCraze supposrts US or International English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Dutch or Danish. Whew! Way to go, polyglots!

It may not be the most original app, but ORT Software's CrossCraze is a very well designed wordplay game with a heap of different options so that you can nerd out as long as you like.

    Description

CrossCraze is a classic crossword puzzle game where you drop letters on a board to form interlocking words. Play offline against the computer, or with a friend on the same device. Featuring fantastic graphics and an unparalleled range of game options, CrossCraze will take your word play to another level.

Choose from nine languages: English (US or International), French (Français), German (Deutsch), Spanish (Español), Italian (Italiano), Dutch (Nederlands), Danish (Dansk), Norwegian (Norsk) or Swedish (Svenska - base words only or unrestricted).

Frustrated by the time-wasting and cheating found in online word games, with so many players using puzzle solvers and word finders? CrossCraze's single player mode lets you choose a computer opponent to match your own skill level. It never takes more than a moment to move, never abandons a game before the end, and never sends you inappropriate messages. How refreshing!

    Official 'PRO' version features:

    No annoying ads.
    No intrusive permissions.
    No expensive in-app purchases.
    Slick graphics and special effects.
28 board layouts, from 15x15 squares up to 21x21.
    11 original board styles.
10 skill levels to challenge adults and children.
9 languages with over 4 million words.
    3 tile allocation methods.
English and French word definitions (internet required).
    Pass-and-play with a friend.
'Tile Stacking' mode (place new tiles over old).
Hints for when you need a helping hand.
Flexible vocabulary option - add or disallow words.
    Timer option.
    Instant score preview.
    Automatic rack sorting.
    Penalties for invalid words.
Name your players and track their statistics.
    Portrait and landscape modes.
Optimized for both phones and tablets.

Lost for words? Don't scrabble in the dark. CrossCraze's unique 'hint' system will search out the best word. Give yourself as many or as few hints per game as you like. CrossCraze can spell out the full word, or just show you where to look.

Choose from three methods of tile allocation: 'Random' for pot luck; 'Balanced' for a more predictable draw; or 'Helpful' to maintain an even spread of letters across your rack.

Choose from two game modes: 'Classic', where new letters must connect to existing ones (e.g. change the word RABBLE to SCRABBLE); and 'Tile Stacking', where new tiles can also be dropped over old ones (e.g. change the verb SCRABBLE to SCRAMBLE).

CrossCraze's automatic rack sorting lets you order your tiles alphabetically, or split them into vowels and consonants. Alternatively, scramble your rack with a simple double-tap.

CrossCraze is a great educational tool for all ages. Boggle your brain, improve your spelling, expand your vocabulary, or even practice a foreign language. Plus, it's an excellent training academy for lovers of anagrams and other word games. Begin your trek from amateur champ to tournament master, and crush your word chums with style.

Ready for some fun? Let's play CROSSCRAZE!

Normally you would get all 5's. But this game has gone nuts. It blocks or uses all the triple corners. It seems to get better vowels. My letters will often be 2 a's, 2 i's, a u, and some low scoring consonants. If I get a triple corner then I have a bunch of vowels. It never used to play like this. I switched from the "helpful" setting because I didn't get the higher scoring letters and could only make simple words. This just started today, so hope it changes.

Left classic words for this cos of virus messages, like it a lot. My only issue is the computer seems to get all the high point letters on a rather steady basis, something not right about that, otherwise a great scrabble game
