Social media is so focused on what's happening now that we almost never scroll back to find out what we were up to years ago. In the name of digi-nostalgia, Timehop automatically reminds you what you posted 1, 2, 3, and 4 years ago across many of your social network accounts.
Connect your Facebook account to Timehop - it'll never post anything, but needs access in order to tell you what you were doing there years ago. You can connect your Twitter, Instagram, and Foursquare if you like as well. The app also crawls the photos taken with your device, checking if you snapped any on this day during the previous four years. Whatever it comes across will be displayed on the principal screen, organized by year. If desired, the app will send you a push notification each day, reminding you of events from the years prior.
The aesthetic and navigational design is professional, modern, and intuitive. You've really got to be a prolific social media user in order for the app to have much utility, but if you fit in that category, the lure of nostalgia is hard to deny.
Timehop is a potentially fun little app if you've been a social media fiend these past years.
