    "Dodging is the bravest option"

What if you were chased by waves of enemies and you couldn't shoot at them or face them directly? In that case, the smartest decision is running away and use whatever you find on your way to keep the enemies aside. That's what Fireball SE lays out. You steer a fireball in a top-down space-like environment full of enemies approaching it from all sides. The goal is, obviously, avoid get touched by the enemies. To achieve that, you must run away from them by swiping your finger across the screen. You can also get rid of some of them by touch red explosive items that will show up in the screen when a group of enemies is close enough.

That's the basic idea, but there are different game modes. In "Waves" you must progress through 8 waves, increasing difficulty, by reaching kills goals. In "Countdown" you must survive 3 minutes countdown as difficulty increases gradually. Finally, "Survival" mode is to survive 5 levels in a row (if you fail, you start from the level 1).

The scoring system is made up by different factors. Killing enemies with explosives is worth points, but combos worth a lot more. Likewise, collecting the sparks loot enemies drop when die is also worth some points. Thus, if you want to hit beat your personal best, you better kill enemies in combo explosions and go back into your trail and loot the sparks.

Fireball SE's graphics are neat and polished. Outstanding animations and effects, especially when red bombs and Novas are touched. The game runs smoothly and the control system is intuitive and non-intrusive. Just a catch: a score-based game should include online leaderboards. It enhances a lot game's playability. Besides, an excellent game.
