    Hunger Games ever-running game

    • Official Hunger Games game
    • Multiple logins (G+, FB)
    • Technical performance could be improved
    • Blatant lack of originality and playability.

"That Peeta is quite dumb, isn't he?"

Might not be a Temple Run-like, pleeease.

As umpteen other blockbuster films whose smart representatives thought it'd be a good idea to have their very own "original" Temple Run-like game, Hunger Games features this ever-running, endless game about running, sliding and jumping. Oh, yeah, you can shoot a bow if you find one.

Ladies and gentlemen, we here at AZ have reviewed Oz, Brave, Iron Man, After Earth, Die Hard 5, Despicable Me (and I'm sure I forgot a few) and I can say without hyperbole that this is ten times worse than all of them put together. First, because if there was any intention to be innovative, it was lost between alpha and beta stages of development, because there's no trace of it. Secondly, because in several areas this game is a step back in Temple-Runnism, because you can move left or rightwards by tilting your device and you have to swipe left or right instead. Thirdly, because animations feel somehow faltering, and see you Katniss-esque character jump over 15 feet obstacles isn't the best way to reflect the flick's message or essence.

Fourth and lastly, social features are limited to poor leaderboards and asynchronous races against FB friends or random players, which isn't by far enough. You can craft arrows and upgrade skill, but it takes time unless you want to spend coins on it. In short, there isn't any incentive other than improving your score for improving's sake, not even new characters or customization options of any kind.

On the other hand, it's free. At least. May the odds be ever in your favor.
