FINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS's review

Revampization of the title of the same name

    • Great storyline and all the pros of the original game
    • Subtle changes to fit current tech, plus major graphics overhaul
    • Voice overs
    • It could have been much more innovative and daring
    • Modern players might not enjoy it at all

    "Celtic Moon sounds back again"

Final Fantasy IV After Years is the sequel to Final Fantasy IV. You should play that first, though it isn't strictly necessary.

It comes with the usual Square Enix quality standars, and although storyline is the same as then , the necessary changes to adapt it to mobile devices have been done so you can make the most of it. In addition, graphics and music have also been revamped to create a 5th console generation-like feeling (this is, as if you were playing on a PlayStation)

Gameplay has been kept as it was with just a few and appreciated tweaks, which is great news because everybody remembers it as one of the best in the series, albeit retro, perhaps unbeaten till FF XIII. Storyline, in case you don't know, it's fragmented in chapters and scattered throughout time and space, so sometimes you play the same events from different perspectives. Lastly, voices are a great addition, and user interface is second to none.

We only miss some daring options, as the inclusion of alternate endings or whatever to expand the original story arc, but this is a claim we unfortunately do to every classic game brought back to mobile.
